Let's Par-Tay! VRP Kick-Off With a Giveaway!

Yay! It's finally here! The Promise Virtual Release Party starts now!

We are celebrating with a blog tour, a scavenger hunt and lots of prizes. Most of the stops on the tour are offering giveaways of Promise and swag. And I'm having some major giveaways, too. What can you win here? Check out these fine prizes. More may be added along the way.

How do you win? Well, each day brings new chances for daily prizes and entries for the grand prize. To get entries, you'll be going on a scavenger hunt. Simply visit our sponsors and tour stops to find answers to a couple questions, then come back here to enter. I'll direct you right where you need to go each day. And you can get extra entries by tweeting and posting on Facebook and your own blogs about the party and giveaways.

Each day you play, you get entries into that day's drawing and you also get additional entries for the grand prize. So the more you participate, the better your chances of winning. Daily winners will be "drawn" (using random.org) and announced the next day, so be sure to check back to see if you've won. Entries for the grand prize close at 11:59 p.m. July 31st and the winner will be announced Monday, August 2nd.

We have lots of prizes and there will always be at least one local winner (from the SW Florida area) and at least one non-local winner each day. Sometimes there might be more. :) Also, you do not have to be a follower to win, but you get extra entries if you are, even new followers.

This is all new to me. I've never done a giveaway quite like this. I've never hosted a virtual party. And, of course, I've never had a book come out. So please bear with me if it gets crazy. But what's a party without a little chaos?

So grab your favorite party drink and let's have some fun!

To get the conversation going, share your favorite party scene. It could be a real-life experience, like a party you threw or attended. Or it could be from a book or movie or whatever. Comment below so we can all enjoy and pretend like we're there.

  • Non-Local Winner - Panthan's Crucible by Meredith Shea Wood

  1. So, I'll start. My 18th birthday party was supposedly pretty good. Like epic. From what I've heard, anyway. I don't actually remember much except the beginning. I'll just say it wasn't good the next morning.

There are all kinds of great parties in movies. If you really think about it, how many don't have parties, in some form or another? For some reason, the one that really stands out to me is the one in Sixteen Candles. Maybe I'm feeling a little nostalgic but from what I remember, that was the best teen party eva. Then, more recently, there's the bachelor party in The Hangover. Talk about epic.

So there are a few really fun ones - no bloody or creepy endings, broken hearts, etc., just all out fun.

  2. My favorite party was when I was in San Antonio and I went to someone's b-day party with a friend.

And then this one guy started to strip out of his clothes and squealing like a mad man, and we were like, "What the heck is that guy doing?" We thought he was super drunk or something.

Found out he got in a fire ant bed.

    LOL!!!

Well, LOL for me since it wasn't me that got in a fire ant bed.

  3. My favorite party scene is the one in Breakfast at Tiffany's--the first party, where there is so much chaos, and Audrey Hepburn's in the middle shouting "Dah-ling!"

I want to go to THAT party!

  4. Anon - That sounds creative. I think I've been to one of those...but I don't think it was a theme party. o.O

  5. Ebyss - Don't you know about the fire ant Strip-tease dance? I know he's not the first to do it...though maybe at a party.

  6. Beth - That was an unexpected one. LOL But Audrey Hepburn, even yelling at a chaotic party, is still so freakin' classy. I think the closest we have today is Sandra Bullock.
